Tannehill Historical State Park, Alabama   Our motorhome had a breakdown & a sheriff showed me the campground, I was able to limp up there, spent the weekend, come Monday got MH hauled to rev repair. The view of picturesque Sand Mountain near Tannehill Historical State Park is great, and Oak Mountain State Park is a good place. Through the winter the highs are mostly in the 50's; nighttime lows in the 30's for Tannehill Historical State Park. If you fancy the outdoors, you'll go for Tannehill Historical State Park. You'll meet a lot of people from West Blocton here, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Six Mile Bend. There are some brilliant whitewater spots on Yellowleaf Creek - North Fork, and of course, everyone loves Talladega National Forest. Alabama is a good location for campers.
