I have stayed in this Campground several times. The first time was right after it opened and neat and clean then and was the same on 2-20-06. The volunteers at the gate or curtious and helpful. There was good food in Pickensville which is a short drive across the river. On the 20th it was FORREST and he was from OHIO. An all around gentleman, a sport and he likes Grits. I pray that all the volunteers I run into are as nice as Forrest. Says Walter Yow
A large amount of rainfall falls at Pickensville Campground; July is when you get the
most rain here, and October is when it's the driest. This part of Alabama is always a diversion to visit all through camping season.
At Pickensville Campground during the days of summer highs are in the 80's. Summer overnight lows sink down to the 70's. The wintertime brings
highs down to the 50's, and after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Pickensville Campground descend into the 30's. It's really not good for you to be in a building every day; you have to get out from time to time, and Pickensville Campground in Alabama is exactly the spot. The glorious people who run this spot and all the enjoyable stuff have lots of folks coming here.
