Talladega Creek has a nice whitewater paddling spot close by, and Flat Rock is uncomplicated to spot from Fernwood Point. Fernwood Point sees pretty high levels of rain; March is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month is October.
This campground is so fine. Cheaha State Park is a magnificent spot to go if you're at Fernwood Point; do take a look at Fox Creek since you're here at Fernwood |

Ok, you've been cooped up too long, and Fernwood Point in Alabama is a really great place to spend some time. Summer brings highs in the 90's to Fernwood Point. Through the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 50's; nighttime lows at Fernwood Point during the winter regularly dip into the 30's. It's out of the question to get bored in Alabama if you love the outdoors.
