Bear Creek Campground
 | Why is it called Deadmans Hill? There is supposed to be a forest road that navigates the north side of Deadmans Hill which is actually a series of mountain tops covered in thick forests about 2,500 feet tall. I have camped at Bear Creek since the summer of 2003 and it is really in the center of everything in the North Olympic Peninsula. This is the best area I have ever camped at in the US but there is no hot shower. Stars on a clear night are so great and the cool nights are appreciated even when it is really hot over in Seattle.... |

 | 16 miles away The distance came up as 3.2mi (or 4.6k) on our map. That was to the River. Nice hike....I just hiked half of this trail on January 20,2008. It's a beautiful quiet trail thru lush forest. Trailhead is difficult to find. From Route 101 in Forks take FR 29. After 11.3 mi take a right onto FR 2913 for 2.2 mi to the end where the trail starts.... |

Additional activities include snowshoeing, ice-skating, sleighrides, and award-wining dining high above the city.
But spring and summer do not mark the end of Grouse Mountain's engaging schedule of activities. You might be surprised to learn that the resort is Vancouver's top four season attraction, showcasing the best of BC to over 1. 1 million visitors per year. Panoramic views of the city, ocean and mountains unfold as the Skyride- North America's largest aerial tram system- whisks visitors to the mountaintop.
