Big Lake
19 miles away I recently visited Goss Grocery at Big Lake. Is would like to buy a sweatshirt or Tshirt with Big Lake Resort on it. I grew up on Goss Rd., daughter of Jerry Clifton. The Lake looked great!!!...
Salamonie Lake
19 miles away giving locations in latitude and longitude does not help at all. I need road maps....
Loon Lake
19 miles away My grandparents owned a cottage there. They were Lee and Flo David. They used to tell of a doctor that lived in the cabin before him whose wife disappeared. The FBI dug up all around the cabin looking for a body. Which side of Loon Lake did your relatives live on? The 'old' side, or the 'new'. We were on the old side....Slow down, enjoy the view....The residents of the south side of Loon Lake, Whitley Co., IN seem more intent upon having old people and nursing moms of small infants pulled over for speeding just a few miles over the unreasonable speed limit of 20 MPH than doing something about the drug abuse issue that runs rampant at night into the wee hours of the morning up and down that very road. The drugs and alcohol and corruption happen at night when darkness hinders the thrill of having the visual pleasure of yet another handsome yard finial like a police speed checkpoint to make their yards seem all the more greener in the afternoon sun. Stop nabbing innocent folks on their way into town for petty speed issues and go after the real problem that plagues Loon Lake....
Swiss Valley
60 miles away 3 PHOTOS Swiss Valley is a great place to ski or snowboard, dedicated to keeping the terrain interesting and excellently groomed. Snowmaking and deicated staff also provide the best kept terrain parks in southwest Michigan. The facilities offer a full service restaurant with food, spirits and live enteratinment most weekends, a cafeteria, group gathering areas and a separate learning area. Swiss Valley also has very affordable learn to ski and snowboard programs for the entire family.... it is pretty good...
Timber Ridge
80 miles away It is not very big, but all of the employees are cool and you never have to wait in line to get on the lift. They sometimes seem to overestimate the amount of snow that they have also. I sometimes wonder if they actually measure the snowpiles that have been plowed in the parking lot instead of what is actually on the hill....
Bittersweet
83 miles away Bittersweet has enormous snow-making capacity and is consistently the first to open in SW Michigan. Their vertical is only 350 ft, but that's about 100 more than any other resort in SW Michigan. As noted, their lift system is impressive, particularly the high speed detachable quad, but lines can get a little long on late December weekends. Their terrain park has a good variety of boxes, jumps, etc. Very friendly people....Yea you guys rock i love the snow...Ahh yes, Bittersweet Ski Area... Michigan skiing at it's very best. The drops in these part of the country are not that impressive but I think Bittersweet makes the most of it. I do recommend this ski area....
Perfect North
99 miles away A few fellow snowboarders and I work and board at Paoli Peaks but unfortunately, we've been hit with warm wind and bad weather. We were dying get back to work and snowboard but it didn't happen. Sunday, we all packed up and headed up to Perfect North. I r...There's not many ski resorts around these parts but Perfect North is quite nice hill to ski on if you live in the area and you need to ski a bit....
