Not at all deep, wide and shallow, nice parking but if you get to the very end where Octoraro Creek meets the Susquehanna it can get pretty nasty. Good place to train beginers but if they go out too far you may never see them again. Somedays the current at the mouth gets to be too much unless you have a rider picking you up downstream a couple miles.... |

...s, when the word got out about the size of the fish in Noxontown. Now, in the last few years, they have been permitting people with bass boats to come there, but a NO-WAKE policy is in effect. If you cause a commotion or disturbance they can prohibit them again, so you must be respectful. The school has boats docked in the lake on their property for students to use, and there is an area that is restricted and marked by signs in the water. They also hold races there, and there are lanes marked with floats for this purpose, so be careful with your outboard when fishing or crossing these areas. They also prohibit alcoholic beverages, and there is a State Game Warden there at the ramp most times in the spring and summer. He will check your license, coolers, and boats. The ramp is good, but has a slight drop-off when you get a few feet in, so launch slowly. The parking lot itself holds about 8-10 vehicles, but you can park on the side of the road, and walk back down. There are signs on the fences clearly stating all the rules.

... the middle of it. It probably stuck up 2 feet. we decided to hike the canoe over that, my buddy wussed out on taking his kayak down so we walked the boats around on the rock ledges with ropes. Wasn't too bad at all. Right under it there was a really nice system. We took the canoe down further then we both went through that on kayak. Then we sat and fished for a while. caught about 50 chubs in an hour. We then ran into a system that was too big for the canoe and we could not walk it around.....so we took all the gear out moved everything down stream including the kayak. I left my ice chest in the boat. it was loaded with ice and strapped down real good. I wanted to add a little bit of weight to it. I left it go. I went down beautifully. Really made me jealous wishing I was in it. There was a decent system right after that, I decided I was not walking around all of the fun, boy did I almost make the biggest mistake of my life. I got stuck in a real fast current and could not really maneuver too well. I ran head first real fast into this rock. it felt like a car accident. I had to hold... |
