Ski Denton
 | I have been the advisor for the Cowanesque Valley Ski and Snowboard Club for 7 years. Our club has always come to Denton Hill. We have over 60 members in our club this year ranging from 1st grade to adulthood. We are so fortunate to have access to such a terrific mountain! The trails are challenging and the scenery picturesque. Our beginner members have benefited from the patience of Denton instructors and have developed into good skiers/boarders. The prices at the snack bar are reasonable and we enjoy munching on hot chili, and nachos and cheese. Thanks Denton for helping us cope with the winter blues. We look forward to every Sunday we spend at your slopes and do not look forward to the end of the season.... |

In addition to ''Maverick'' the new cut-through between Maverick and Twister will be a blue square called ''Bandit's Pass''. NEW TRAIL: THE GLADE We have opened up some fantastic glade skiing & riding above 80-acres and between Dozey Doe and Ben Blakely. The Swain Snowsport Instructors have spent many hours clearning the underbrush so that ''The Glade'' can be officially opened this year. Be sure to check it out when the snow flies! NEW TRAIL: MAGIC MOUNTAIN The Magic Carpet has found a new home on the west side of Lower Robinson where we carved out and regraded a new learning zone called ''Magic Mountain''. Tussey Mountain
 | 49 miles away Okay, I'm on Tussey's Junior Race Team and we spend every waking moment at Tussey, and love it. It takes exactly 7 minutes and 43 seconds to get up the lift and 4 minutes and 22 seconds to get up the t-bar (which they fixed with duct tape) Never get chair 32, the bars don't go down, and chairs 75 and 1 are lucky. If you ask nicely in the lodge, they'll warm up your cinnamon bun for you and always try the vending machine without money first, it sometimes works. Also, never use the front door to the lodge, you are guarenteed to fall oh, and the mountain can be skied in full tuck in 15.4 seconds. ... |
Bristol Mountain
 | 58 miles away 5 PHOTOS Actually there is a wonderful place to stay right across the road from Bristol Mountain. It is called ''The Quiet Place- Mountain View''...and, there are 8 more ''Quiet Places'' within a 20 minute drive of Bristol Mountain. For more information please visit http://www.thequietplace.com... This is Mark Moore with a ski review here. Bristol Mountain, hmmm? Yep, lots of good runs, they should put in some more lifts though. But overall it's good... Yep, good good!... |
Holimont
 | 69 miles away 3 PHOTOS For nearly 50 years, families and snowsports enthusiasts from miles around have converged on HoliMont – North America’s largest private ski area devoted to family skiing adventures.
Generations of members have been drawn in by the amazing skiing, only to fall in love with the warm, community atmosphere that makes HoliMont the kind of place you never want to leave.
And while a sense of community can’t be manufactured, snow’s a different story. HoliMont’s patented snowmaking system creates 700 vertical feet of wall-to-wall, top-to-bottom snow. Combine that with an average of 200 inches of natural snow per season, and you’re guaranteed a great run every time.
During the week, HoliMont is happy to welcome non-members and groups, who can forget about standing around shivering in long lines. As lifts service over 50 slopes and trails, as well as the Terrain Parks and Halfpipe.
