Cattail Lake
Cattail Lake in within the Bangor Naval Submarine Base and has not been accessible (even to most navy personnel) since 911.  I have not been to Cattail Lake in a long time.  It is a small natural lake with no dam.   I don't think there is public camping at the Erland Point Mobile Home Park or CRISTA Camps & Conference grounds.  CRISTA Camps & Conference center is at the south end of Island Lake in Silverdale....

Lake Goss

That green scum people were worried about is off the lake now. Maybe the cold killed it, or it ran out of food?
Anyway, I just took a look at it and the scum is gone....

Hicks Lake
19 miles away
The lake is about 3 acres. 8 stormwater drains go into here, there is no outlet....

... from the downtown core of Vancouver, Grouse Mountain is the city's favourite backyard playground.

The resort's winter activities include the finest in local skiing and snowboarding, with 26 runs situated in the pristine wilderness the Coastal Mountain Range. Floodlit runs open until 10pm nightly facilitate skiing and riding for everyone's schedule. Additional activities include snowshoeing, ice-skating, sleighrides, and award-wining dining high above the city.

But spring and summer do not mark the end of Grouse Mountain's engaging schedule of activities. You might be surprised to learn that the resort is Vancouver's top four season attraction, showcasing the best of BC to over 1. 1 million visitors per year. Panoramic views of the city, ocean and mountains unfold as the Skyride- North America's largest aerial tram system- whisks visitors to the mountaintop.

Stevens Pass
89 miles away

Stevens has a wide diversity of trails and runs that suits every riding style. From beginner to expert and for those terrain park junkies Stevens has you covered. I think what's special about Stevens is you can find your own little part of the mountain which is all yours, I have 4-5 little runs that cross between trails and off-piste that are all mine. Also the snow is crazy good, powder almost all the time. My favorite runs are Orion, some tree skiing near wall street, and right above the power lines. Stevens also has some pretty sweet out of bounds stuff to so check it out...

White Pass
96 miles away
...th 33 percent of the terrain geared toward experts, 43 percent toward intermediates and 24 percent toward beginners.
Nothing gets you to the top faster than the Great White Express, Washington's only Doppelmayr high-speed detachable quad. Great White can take you from the base to the summit in five minutes.
White Pass is recognized as one of the greatest mountains to ride in the Northwest. Natural quarter-pipes, kickers, drops, cornices and chutes challenge even the most experienced boarder. It offers a half-pipe.
It's got one of the most scenic and well-maintained cross-country areas in the Northwest. The 18 km of double track, which allows both classic and skating, circles a picturesque lake and then climbs into the Wenatchee National Forest.
The White Pass Learning Center has developed a wide variety of programs for all ages and abilities. Highly-trained instructors are there, ready to help you to learn, to improve and to grow. So, whether your a novice snowboarder or an aspiring racer the White Pass Learning Center can help you get more out of your time on the mountai...
