This area has tons of hiking, fishing, hunting and canoing/kayaking in the Kootenai River. The Kootenai Wildlife Refuge is 5 miles away and is great to hike around. We have fishing and swimming in our 3 acre lake and have 2 huge Lakeside Firepits. Some of the sites have BBQs and Picnic Tables and we sell ice, wood, charcoal, pop, snacks and some RV hookup supplies. Here are a couple of great hikes to add to the site:
Snowcreek Falls, Naples, Idaho. Directions: Go north from Sandpoint on Highway 95 to Naples. Turn left on the old highway 95 and go about 5 miles, passing the Deep Creek Inn. You will cross a railroad crossing, keep following the road until you see a brown Forest Service sign on the right hand side of the road. Turn left off of the old highway 95 and follow the road until it turns to dirt and forms a Y intersection. Take forest service road 402, on the left going up the hill for about 2 miles. ...Flowery Trail Road from the town of Chewelah is a paved, two-lane road that underwent an extensive face-lift courtesy of the Federal Highways Department. Flowery Trail Road from Usk was also re-aligned and paved offering a beautiful new route to our parking lot. The project was completed prior to the 2006/2007 winter season.
Climate
The climate at 49ø North Mountain Resort is similar to other higher altitude mountain settings; however, due to its geographical location, the ski area experiences different weather patterns than other Pacific Northwest ski areas. Situated in the southern Selkirk Mountains, the ski area has a unique climate due to its location one mile east of Flowery Trail Pass (4,046 ft) that produces moderate temperatures with consistent snow pack at higher elevations. The total snowfall at the ski area averages 300 inches or more, while the total average annual precipitation at the ski area is 36.10 inches, with 69 percent of the precipitation coming as snow between November to April.

Lookout Pass is the original Idaho ski area having documented skiing and a home made rope tow in
1935. The local ski pioneers chose Lookout Pass because of the abundant snowfall and excellent snow quality which they could access by jumping on the Northern Pacific railcars as they proceeded east from the mining towns of Wallace and Mullan, Idaho. These ski adventurers would hop off the railcars at the summit and utilize a highway storage shed as a warming hut
that they nicknamed ''Buzzards Roost''.
