It's a beautiful area to row!!...What happened to the camp grounds at Hoover!!!!This is neededback!!!We had great fun there....We recently discovered Hoover Reservoir. It's a beautiful lake, though much, if not most, is inaccessible due to ''private propery''. It appears there are several new access areas however. One can drive entirely around it in less than 30 minutes. The area around the damn, and the area around the other end (the ''Big Walnut Creek'' flow into the lake is also very nice. It's sorta hard to find a quiet area as it is near Columbus. It's well worth a visit.... |

We tried this stretch of river yesterday. It was a complete waste of time. The water was flat and still. There wasn't enough current to even move us. We had to paddle the 1m back to the take-out location. What a bust! =(...How deep is the river?...The map above I believe is incorrect. It clearly shows the put in ABOVE the O'Shaughnessy dam. Are we supposed to shoot over the spill way to a 84 foot high concrete dam? Also, the take out location appears to be the back yard of a secured private residence. Well, according to the map anyway. I wish there was more information about this location.... |
