I strongly disagree. Hannen lake is a beautiful all season lake. Fishing is good here. Although they have not kept up on there playgroung equipment. Thats all and its not a big deal. I recomend going there a few more times....This is the worst place I have seen. It used to be really nice up until last year. The ranger who runs it does not take care of it. They reserved spots for their family and they harassed my family the entire time. I do not recommend this place to any family looking to have fun.... |

Bobber's Grill now has a wonderful Brunch on Sundays, yes every Sunday, prepared by Chef Mickey's Catering. You really need to get out, eat, and take a nice walk!...This campground has been closed.? There is now new ownership and it is called Scales Bend.? It is much cleaner than it used to be, the boat ''junk yard'' is gone and the pool is no more.? I drove there from Colorado because i heard there was a whitewater park built here, but didn't find one. It looked like there could be a wave there at some point but no eddy service. Is it possible I went to the wrong place? I went to Palisades-Kepler state park, at the bottom of the hill at the river, it was a wide open flat river with a low head dam that had been partially removed with a small rapid in it but nothing i could really play on. Is there another one somewhere else in Iowa that is running right now?... |
