Amish Country Campground
 | 12 miles away Do you need permission to have a picnic in the park called Memory Park?...We stayed at Evergreen RV Park in Mt. Eaton. It is a new park and absolutely beautiful. Everything is state of the art -- even an indoor pool with a cover that opens by a sensor. Every site is landscaped with a fence, bushes and flowers. The people are very friendly. It has the nicest restrooms (and largest) that I have ever seen. I certainly will go back again.... |
Summit Lake
 | 15 miles away You would be crazy to swim in that lake. The place is very polluted. This 'hood isn't exactly a vacation area.
...Summit Lake is an old man-made reservoir for the ohio/erie and ohio/pennsylvania canal systems in the area. There used to be an amusement park with beach/swimming area on the east side of the lake many years ago. Plenty of swimming spots just a mile or so south at Portage Lakes....Summit lake is an inner city lake that has no swimming. there is fishing but fish from the lake are not safe to eat, there have been 3 alligators caught there in recent years (seriously) The area is known to be quite dangerous after dark. There are some lovely areas just south of the city that are much safer. Summit Lake....not so much... |
Meadow Lake Park
 | 16 miles away A beautiful, quiet park with two lakes, shuffleboard, tennis, horseshoes, basketball, and other basic games but biggest attraction here is peace and quiet. Located near Amish country and other rural attractions. We plan WI-FI in the near future. For details check out www.meadowlakepark.com... |
Yellow Creek
 | 17 miles away the week of july 3 has been a nasty one for yellow creek. a developer in richfield has clear cut into zoned conservation district. some of this district was even under the control of the western reserve conservation district and they were never informed. this land is within 100 feet of the northern most feeder creek to yellow creek. any help we could receive with this matter would be appreciated.... |
Lake O'Springs
 | 18 miles away This lake is a natural lake made up of many springs. From the many arrow heads found around the lake there is no doubt that it was home to indiginous tribes at one time or another. In the early part of the 20th century it was a summer retreat for some people. In the late 60's early 70's it was a great venue for local bands to play and a summer park with swimming etc. as well.... |
Cuyahoga River
 | 20 miles away The sewage treatment plant just up river of the put-in location can make paddling after a big rain a little smelly. The park doesn't recommend any paddling on the river, and if you are going you should check their website for construction on the bridges along the way.... |
