Real nice if I had a GPS sitting next to my laptop, but for those without their GPS, directions to a trail head would be nice....

Down By The River Campground
11 miles away
Campground your home away from home as you enjoy all of the outstanding attractions and breathtaking scenes found nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Large trees and beautiful landscaping frame sites in our campground. Sites are spacious and most are pull-through.

Campground amenities include bath houses with showers and laundry facilities, a recreational center and a smaller pavilion used for outdoor events. We are open from May 1st until October 31st. Nearby attractions include Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls and Gorge, and the Blue Ridge Parkway, as well as countless hiking trails. For more information, please visit our website at www. Lake James Landing
16 miles away
We are looking forward to our first full year at Lake James Landing. We're hoping to find cooler summer temps than our central Florida normal. The Landings are beautifully maintained & other RV'ers are friendly helpful folks. Can't wait to get up there....We have a camper at Lake James Landing, and we enjoy it very much! Friendly folks, family oriented, and quiet. There are 4 ramps for launching boats, and the campground is currently expanding under new ownership. There are docks for launching, and plenty of room to beach your boat overnight. We've never had an issue with theft or vandalism while leaving our boat beached while we are camping. I highly recommend this campground for campers with children....

Springmaid Mountain
18 miles away
Springmaid Mountain is a beautiful place to visit. Even if you don't like camping they also have cabins. If you go camping, try going in the off season. We went in Sept. 05 and we basically had the campground to ourselves! Even if others were in the campground, the sites are spaced apart. Its a great getaway....
