I currently live on the creek and when it rains hard it is easily a class III. I've run it several times and it is definitely a difficult, but fun, run...I just so happenned to google Gilberts Creek. I was raised on Gilberts creek and I have walked every inch of the creek many times. To say it is whitewater is pretty funny, except where the river runs into the Kentucky River you can't float a boat on Gilberts creek. Most of the creek is barely ankle deep. I went here for years, years ago...but had not been fishing there for a long time. One day I met Bob Mackey the new owner of the boat dock there and he persuaded me to come. The fishing was great. We fished with liver at night, and the catfish were on!
