Rugged Ridge Trail
 | 12 miles away The distance came up as 3.2mi (or 4.6k) on our map. That was to the River. Nice hike....I just hiked half of this trail on January 20,2008. It's a beautiful quiet trail thru lush forest. Trailhead is difficult to find. From Route 101 in Forks take FR 29. After 11.3 mi take a right onto FR 2913 for 2.2 mi to the end where the trail starts.... |
Quinault River Inn
 | 18 miles away 7 PHOTOS Tent Sites, RV Hookups, Pets OK, Fires OK, Store, Nearby Grocery... TENT:If associated with RV, RV:No sewer disposal... Beautiful views of the serene lower Quinault River grace every room at the Inn. Our quiet location is easily accessed from Highway 101. Comfortable queen beds, updated baths, Native American artwork and photography of the Olympic peninsula appoint every room making your stay memorable. We provide cable TV, free wireless internet and smoke free rooms, too. The entire facility has been fully renovated, including an inviting covered deck. We are proud of the results and hope you will have the opportunity to experience them.
A delightful, old time general store and two cafes are within easy walking distance, while two restaurants for fine dining are only a short 5 minute drive. Our Inn is in the Amanda Park community that serves as the Gateway to the greater Lake Quinault / Quinault River valley and Rain Forest. Many people say that the Quinault Rainforest offers more than the Hoh. Superior guided salmon and steelhead fishing starts in our front yard. Come join us for a night, a weekend or longer and discover the wonders of the Quinault Rain Forest.

Bear Creek Campground
 | 19 miles away Why is it called Deadmans Hill? There is supposed to be a forest road that navigates the north side of Deadmans Hill which is actually a series of mountain tops covered in thick forests about 2,500 feet tall. I have camped at Bear Creek since the summer of 2003 and it is really in the center of everything in the North Olympic Peninsula. This is the best area I have ever camped at in the US but there is no hot shower. Stars on a clear night are so great and the cool nights are appreciated even when it is really hot over in Seattle.... |
