Teeter Creek Loop

Row River
18 miles away
...ce to swim and is a very popular place in the summer (approx. 150-200 people every day). BUT anyone going in the water in June are really asking for trouble unless the water level is really low and calm. If the water is still high or even at a moderate level weeks after the last heavy rain, logs and branches that wash down from the Umpqua National Forest logging operations many miles up river get trapped at the first big basin, Wildwood Falls, and thrash about under the water, pulling down anyone who gets in. I have personally seen people drown because they slipped from the rocks, or dove in and hit debris, or because they were wearing sandals and fell into the water when it was at a moderate level in June, never surfacing, all infront of atleasty 30 people who were also in the water near them but at the outskirts of the falls basin, or were onlookers. In these situations, no one is able to get near the base of the falls because of the force of the water at Wildwood Falls. So, please, if you are promoting this beautiful, narrow, not very deep stretch of river, with it's rapids and s...

Calapooia River
20 miles away
Be mindful that the old pilings from the dam that was removed still exist and I believe present a hazard that must be scouted.  If you run it before June there is likely no problem at all.  Enjoy. The dam site is two miles upriver from Brownsville out Kirk Avenue and Northern Drive.  I would hate to see your watercraft buggered up.  It is a lovely river....

If you can ski Mt. Ashland, you can ski anywhere, is a boast locals in southern Oregon have made for 45 years. It is true; Mt. Ashland offers plenty of adventure for both skiers and riders. The ski area is located about a half an hour drive from the charming town of Ashland, home to the world renowned Oregon Shakespeare Festival. At 7,500 feet, Mt. Ashland is the highest point in the Siskiyou mountain range. Its north facing slopes collect an average 300 inches of snowfall annually. The ski area offers 23 trails in addition to chute skiing and boarding in its famous bowl. All trails are easily accessed by 4 chairlifts. Twilight skiing on 10 runs is scheduled Thursday through Friday evenings beginning in late-December. The mountain prides itself on a warm and friendly atmosphere.
