Great Divide
51 miles away
...fferent valleys covering more than 1500 acres of terrain. From atop The Continental Divide several other mountain ranges, lakes, and valleys are displayed in vistas stretching for nearly 100 miles. Helena is just 23 miles and Great Falls only 95 miles via I-15 Exit #200.
For a ''local'' ski area, Great Divide is enormous. Finding powder three days after a storm is not uncommon. The management's prominent signage stating ''DO NOT SKI ALONE....IF YOU BECOME INJURED OR ILL WE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO FIND YOU'' Bears ominous testimony to the complex network of trails and the seemingly endless glades that coined the local phrase ''ski-all terrain''.
The BACKYARD beginner's area is FREE to anyone. The MEADOW MOUNTAIN Chairlift serves a separate minor peak designed specifically for new skiers & riders, little kids and young families.
The GOOD LUCK Chairlift provides access to the intensely used lower mountain with 100% snowmaking coverage and night lighting. These trails are home to numerous lesson groups, the popular Great Divide Ski Team, and Montana's dominant Terrain Park Scene.....

Bridger Bowl offers a very diverse ski experience with the following ratings: 20% beginner, 30% intermediate, 20% advance and 30% extreme. Incredible expert only skiing is available off Bridger's new Schlasman's Chairlift and on the renowned ''Ridge.'' Skiers and snowboarders who wish to ride the new lift or access this terrain, collectively known as Ridge Terrain, must have an avalanche transceiver (457 kHz). It is strongly recommended to have a partner, a shovel and expert skiing abilities in addition to knowledge of the terrain before venturing into the area which will have no hazard markings, no grooming and no marked trails. Ridge Terrain contains numerous steep chutes, rock cliffs, and snowfields which may end in unmarked cliffs. Clearly, Bridger Bowl's Ridge Terrain provides some of the most challenging skiing found within any ski area boundary!...
