This campground is 8 miles from the west entrance to Glacier National Park and 1 mile east of Hungry Horse. There are numerous hiking areas, wilderness spots and water fun near this campground including Hungry Horse Reservoir, Flathead Lake, the Flathead River system and the many outdoor activities which are associated with water and mountain fun. You will appreciate the clean restrooms and attention to the grounds which the owners take pride in throughout the season. Canyon RV Campground & Cabins is open from May 1 to September 30 each year.

Columbia Mountain Trail
 | It is a really easy climb! I think your dog also can walk. Succes....I have hiked this trail in summer with little work. However, I Tried it in march-09 and found it very difficult for several reasons. The snow was only 1 of many things....It is a pretty substantial hike for most. There is a 4000+ ft elevation gain to the top with a long flatish section midway. It is occasionally used by dirt bikes, but I've only ever seen one on the trail. Great views of the valley and the peaks of Glacier National Park....Not grueling at all. A very easy hike.Also not a peaceful walk.... |
