Tenderfoot Creek
16 miles away
I'm a land owner on the Tenderfoot and I wouldn't recomend trying to float it. It is a fun place to go tubing and have short floats but it isn't a good place for an extended trip. There are numerous log jams and gravel bars to navigate. On the other hand The Smith River is awesome....

Going to put on in IK's in about two hours. Belt creek is roaring. Non-stop rain for a week. Putting in at neihart taking out somewhere before the lazy doe.Scouted last night on the way back to great falls from floating the galltain. One huge strainer lodged in footings of old bridge....

Showdown
24 miles away
Nestled in the heart of the Little Belt Mountains you'll find Showdown Ski Area. Since 1936, Showdown has been known for its family friendly atmosphere and amazing all natural snow. With a base area elevation that's higher than many summits and a location that puts us right in the middle of the winter storm paths, Showdown gets the good snow and keeps it longer. Great skiing is just part of what has kept Showdown going for over 70 years. The real secret to our success is the friendly folks that work and play here. George and his family have been running the show for over 30 years, and have helped generations of Montanans learn to love winter. Whether you' re a downhill demon or just looking for a fun place to have a drink, a laugh and soak in the sparkles of winter, Showdown is the place to play....

Bridger Bowl

Bridger Bowl offers a very diverse ski experience with the following ratings: 20% beginner, 30% intermediate, 20% advance and 30% extreme. Incredible expert only skiing is available off Bridger's new Schlasman's Chairlift and on the renowned ''Ridge.'' Skiers and snowboarders who wish to ride the new lift or access this terrain, collectively known as Ridge Terrain, must have an avalanche transceiver (457 kHz). It is strongly recommended to have a partner, a shovel and expert skiing abilities in addition to knowledge of the terrain before venturing into the area which will have no hazard markings, no grooming and no marked trails. Ridge Terrain contains numerous steep chutes, rock cliffs, and snowfields which may end in unmarked cliffs. Clearly, Bridger Bowl's Ridge Terrain provides some of the most challenging skiing found within any ski area boundary!...

Great Divide
91 miles away
...entertainment well into the evening after a memorable meal at one of many local restaurants. You'll find many of these establishments conveniently clustered in the historic ''Last Chance Gulch'' downtown or the trendy new Great Northern Town Center. Helena is one of the best small cities in the U.S. for the arts. Museums, galleries and theaters provide an amazing array of cultural diversions for a city of less than 100,000 friendly folks. You'll enjoy an extended stay in the Helena Area!
Great Divide is friendly and affordable. Kevin & Nyla Taylor bought the area from the Belmont Ski Club in 1985 and rapidly expanded the lifts, trails, lights and snowmaking. Their 3 daughters Emily, Betsy and Adrienne assist in all phases of the operation. A weekend adult lift ticket tops out at just $34, with rate reductions each hour of the afternoon. Lower rates are offered to students, children, weekday visitors, hotel guests, and even $7/hour tickets are available. Nine dollar ''Friday Nights Under the Lights!'' are a huge hit.
Great Divide is absolutely different than any other ski area. ...
