...re for 4 or 5 generations! Welcome!

The natural beauty of rock cliffs, South Branch of the Potomac River that flows north, natural sand beach with fresh water muscle shells and fossil rocks on it make it a great place to launch a boat, fish, do a float trip, etc. You can sit by the river and watch it go past, bird and bald or golden eagle watch, picnic by the day, camp overnight or longer, do a monthly rental, or season lease, and make new friends here!

If exploring our 4 state area of WV, MD, VA, PA is your preference we'll be glad to give you suggestions based on your interests: early American history with forts; Civil War with trenches, museums, Indian Mound Cemetary; Potomac Eagle Train, caves in area, WV and National Parks; Hampshire County Library for family tree work; C & O Canal and Paw Paw tunnel are great places to hike and bike. If music is your joy there are lots of musical events in the area. We live in such a great area and want you to enjoy it while you are here.

Drive a another mile until you cross the rail tracks and make a quick left down a dirt rd that follows the rail track. Follow 200yrd until you reach the train observation deck and park here. Cross the tracks and look at the wounderful 3 shelf drop. If you would like to run it, head right down throught trail above fall. Start river right and work to left as you exit last shelf. watch the nice keeper and the bottem left at very high water....
Water between fairhope and hyndman is full of bolders and water depths drop a lot in summer months. i advice that rafting should be done in the spring....

Tussey Mountain
92 miles away
Okay, I'm on Tussey's Junior Race Team and we spend every waking moment at Tussey, and love it. It takes exactly 7 minutes and 43 seconds to get up the lift and 4 minutes and 22 seconds to get up the t-bar (which they fixed with duct tape) Never get chair 32, the bars don't go down, and chairs 75 and 1 are lucky. If you ask nicely in the lodge, they'll warm up your cinnamon bun for you and always try the vending machine without money first, it sometimes works. Also, never use the front door to the lodge, you are guarenteed to fall oh, and the mountain can be skied in full tuck in 15.4 seconds. ...

Ski Liberty
94 miles away
I loved Ski Liberty when I stayed there a few years ago for a weekend. It was the most fun I've ever had at a ski area. There was a great snow storm while we were there and the conditions were awesome. I'm coming back this year with my children and look forward to sharing your mountain with them....
