 | Box Canyon can be floated by most anyone in a canoe, raft, drift boat, kayak or pontoon boat 8'+. There are enough rocks and shoreline sweepers to keep you on your toes. It's mainly floated by anglers or pleasure floaters and is often done several times a day due to it's nice short length of 4 miles. It's not real wilderness but the wilds are closeby and it's got a nice feel.... |

Great little slice of wilderness with a wicked put-in below lower mesa falls and just enough boat eating whitewater to weed out most floaters. I see parts of boats wrapped around rocks every year. Not for beginners. Fishing can be good and watch for bears, moose and eagles. An easier float starts part of the way down, accessed by the old Bear Gulch ski resort road, if it's open.... |

Incredible expert only skiing is available off Bridger's new Schlasman's Chairlift and on the renowned ''Ridge.'' Skiers and snowboarders who wish to ride the new lift or access this terrain, collectively known as Ridge Terrain, must have an avalanche transceiver (457 kHz).
