Blue Lake RV Park
 | 1 PHOTO ...n our 3 acre lake and have 2 huge Lakeside Firepits. Some of the sites have BBQs and Picnic Tables and we sell ice, wood, charcoal, pop, snacks and some RV hookup supplies. Here are a couple of great hikes to add to the site:
Snowcreek Falls, Naples, Idaho. Directions: Go north from Sandpoint on Highway 95 to Naples. Turn left on the old highway 95 and go about 5 miles, passing the Deep Creek Inn. You will cross a railroad crossing, keep following the road until you see a brown Forest Service sign on the right hand side of the road. Turn left off of the old highway 95 and follow the road until it turns to dirt and forms a Y intersection. Take forest service road 402, on the left going up the hill for about 2 miles. There is no definite parking lot, just a pull out near the trail head. (I attached a picture of it). It's beautiful and about a mile hike to the lower and upper falls. Myrtle Creek/Bottleneck Lake and Snow Lake: Hefty views of the Selkirk Crest. Quite a scramble to get to the top for the views, but well worth it. Follow the Snow Creek Road (FS-402) west for about 7 mi... |

Lookout Pass
 | 70 miles away 1 PHOTO Lookout Pass is the original Idaho ski area having documented skiing and a home made rope tow in
1935. The local ski pioneers chose Lookout Pass because of the abundant snowfall and excellent snow quality which they could access by jumping on the Northern Pacific railcars as they proceeded east from the mining towns of Wallace and Mullan, Idaho. These ski adventurers would hop off the railcars at the summit and utilize a highway storage shed as a warming hut
that they nicknamed ''Buzzards Roost''. Lookout Pass has operated every winter season since 1935 and has a
reputation for legendary powder, earliest openings, and longest season in the region. Average snowfall is 400'' of light Northern Rockies snow. The ''Affordable Family Ski Area'' has recently received a major expansion approval and has initiated the first three phases of a five phase Master Development Plan.... |
49 Degrees North
 | 81 miles away 1 PHOTO ...w pack is greater than the west side. Snow begins to accumulate in November and usually reaches its greatest depth and water content sometime during March. Ski Area History The town of Chewelah (est. 1883) has long been a gateway for a myriad of outdoor recreational activities especially skiing. Skiing at Chewelah Peak (elev. 5,773 ft) has attracted numerous year-round recreational users since before the Flowery Trail Road was opened to motorized traffic in the early 1930?s. The Colville National Forest formally recognized the winter use of Chewelah Peak in approximately 1935. A permit was issued for development of a site approximately two miles west of the present site of 49ø North Mountain Resort. The completion of Cy?s Hut in 1936 and a rope tow in 1939 firmly established winter recreation on Chewelah Peak. Cy?s Hut burned in 1949. After the completion of the two story Chewelah Mountain Lodge in 1950 and installation of a double chair lift in 1951, the area experienced an increased volume of recreational users and tourists. Over a period of years, obsolescence of the ... |
