Snowcreek Falls, Naples, Idaho. Directions: Go north from Sandpoint on Highway 95 to Naples. Turn left on the old highway 95 and go about 5 miles, passing the Deep Creek Inn. You will cross a railroad crossing, keep following the road until you see a brown Forest Service sign on the right hand side of the road. Turn left off of the old highway 95 and follow the road until it turns to dirt and forms a Y intersection. Take forest service road 402, on the left going up the hill for about 2 miles. There is no definite parking lot, just a pull out near the trail head. (I attached a picture of it). It's beautiful and about a mile hike to the lower and upper falls. Myrtle Creek/Bottleneck Lake and Snow Lake: Hefty views of the Selkirk Crest. Quite a scramble to get to the top for the views, but well worth it. Follow the Snow Creek Road (FS-402) west for about 7 miles to a point just past FS-661, the Cooks Pass ... |

The local ski pioneers chose Lookout Pass because of the abundant snowfall and excellent snow quality which they could access by jumping on the Northern Pacific railcars as they proceeded east from the mining towns of Wallace and Mullan, Idaho. These ski adventurers would hop off the railcars at the summit and utilize a highway storage shed as a warming hut
that they nicknamed ''Buzzards Roost''.

Flowery Trail Road from the town of Chewelah is a paved, two-lane road that underwent an extensive face-lift courtesy of the Federal Highways Department.
