Cool Springs Campground is owned by PG&E and managed by American Land and Leisure (AL&L). You may contact AL&L, at 530-284-1785, from May to October. No reservations are taken for camping. Cool Springs is generally open from early May through mid-September. The heaviest use is between mid-June through mid-August. Butt Lake is a great fishing lake. Motorboats are allowed but no skiing or jet skis. There is a nice rock\sand beach for playing.... |

Potato Patch Campground

We camp at Potato Patch campground annually with several other families. It is a very nice campground on a beautiful river. There is not a lot to do nearby though and it is a primitive campground with pit toilets and no showers. There are no hookups for RVs, but we tent camp anyway. We mostly play by the river (very cold water). Our attraction is the beauty and the people we camp with. We used to fish, but it is all catch and release. I can definitely recommend it but you have to be looking for a relaxing and beautiful setting and mostly doing not much of anything.

...t day out on snow. There is no long haul carrying gear from a far off parking structure. It's car to slopes with little effort. The lifts are all within site. The niche Soda carves is one that takes families into the sport without immersing them into high priced, high paced resorts that can be all too intimidating. ...ya its cool...first time i went there...i had a blast...i guarantee i am coming back ti snowboard...AAA++++...Man, this place is tiny. I like it that way, it's very cozy and inspiring....Boreal is a great little ski area, plenty of fun runs and good snow. It's a lot smaller than most ski areas around here which is of course both good and bad. But for a resort of this size it's perfect.... |
