Jackass's Meadows Campground
I've been to the campground and it is a great area; however, it is NOT an arid environment as the description says.? It is located at over 7000 feet in a forested area.? In addition, there is NO access to Devils Postpile (or the Mammoth area, as is implied by the lodging links). The campground is located at the end of the road and there is no road pass over the Sierra anywhere in this area. This campground is seasonal and is snowed in completely in the winter. ...
Bear Twin Lakes
Great place to visit! A must see for all families and tourists! The awe and marvel at the beauty of the lake is indescribable! My family had an awsome experience and Joey, Anisa, and Diana ( my children) all would love to go back! Bear Twin Lakes is not a place to miss! Just watch out for the occasional black bear!...
Rainbow Lake
13 miles away Rainbow lake, as well as numerous other lakes in the Dinkey Lakes Wilderness Area are well worth the moderate effort it takes to visit. Rainbow lake itself is cupped between a low granite ridge and a steeper, curving granite wall. It is a beautifully clear lake populated with large numbers of rainbow trout which I assume gave it the name. Information, registration, and restrictions can all be obtained at the Ranger station located in the town of Prather. We camp at this lake at least twice a year, and it is always one of my favorites....
Sierra Summit
17 miles away 3 PHOTOS Sierra Summit is located in the Sierra National Forest, just 65 miles northeast of Fresno at Huntington Lake. The resort offers over 1600 feet of vertical serviced by seven chairlifts and 4 surface lifts with terrain to suit all ability levels. There is slopeside lodging at the Sierra Summit Inn with a full service rental and repair shop, sports shop and snowsports school. Sierra Summit has invested heavily in snow making allowing us to offer consistent snow coverage on most runs all winter long. Our snowmaking also allows for an earlier season opening as well as allowing skiing and riding well into April during most seasons. The resort continues to provide the best winter experience at a tremendous value with money-saving options such as the Stay and Play lodging special, $20 high school Sundays, a Learn to Ski and Snowboard Guarantee and a spring season pass special. Visit www.sierrasummit.com for details....

19 miles away I have never seen it in the 90's in summer (way to high for those temps), and I am sure it is a heck of lot colder than 50's in the winter...

Badger Pass
57 miles away Badger Pass is the perfect place to learn to ski or snowboard. It has a really long bunny slope, and all the other trails are pretty easy too. The problem is that once you know how to ski without a V-shape thingy the place has little to offer. The staff is very friendly though....
Dodge Ridge
| 89 miles away Dodge Ridge is a great place for families and beginner skiers! You can't lose your kids like you can at the bigger resorts. They have a great all-day ski school program. They recently put in a new lodge, now all they need is some snow-making equipment....Dodge Ridge takes great pride in their reputation as a family-friendly destination and the new spacious Family Lodge that opened last season was designed with your family in mind. Inside, you will find an expanded Children's Snowsports Center, full service Ticketing & Guest Services Center, fully-equipped day-use locker rooms, and a cozy bistro. Guests will also enjoy our newly remodeled rental center. The rental center features improved guest flow, which makes renting your equipment quick, easy, and will have you on the slopes in minutes. With an improved rental center comes new top-of-the-line rental equipment from Elan, Dalbello, and Rossignol. To further enhance your tree skiing experience, Dodge Ridge spent the summer removing boulders, stumps, and scrub brush from some of our featured runs.
