Feather River - South Fork
 | 27 miles away First this run should be considered a Class V run. There are a lot of tricky rapids and a typical class IV boater will find it very challenging. It's not a class IV run. It's remote, the water is cold and the days are typically getting shorter as the season is in late September and early October.
You can easily run it on an afternoon ONLY IF you know the run very well and can run everything with out scouting. For folks who have never seen the run before plan on a long day. Get an early start (10AM) and plan to be on the water until late afternoon.
Carry sleeping bags and warm clothing if you've never done the run before. There have been quite a few epics on this run with people being caught unprepared. The nights are very cold this time of year.
