Tucalota Springs RV Park and Campground
 | 13 miles away We visited Tucalota Springs RV Park the first week-end in February 2007. We liked it a lot. It's a small campground but it is very clean. The sites are large to. All of the sites have fire pits and they have full hook ups. They also have tent areas. They have a store on the premises stocked with most of the items you may need while camping. There is a solar heated swimming pool, basketball court, volleyball court and a couple of horseshoe pits. There are also trails to ride your bike on and there is a little lake for fishing. Its catch and release and you will need to purchase a license from their store for $5.00. You won't get cell phone service but if you feel like taking a nice walk up the hill there will be a bench waiting for you and you will get service there. The people who worked there were very friendly. We will definitely go back!... |
Indian Oaks Trailer Ranch
 | 15 miles away ...know they call it a lake, but it's a little bit of a stretch in my mind. Very creative photography is a bit deceiving. Not a lot of maintenance goes into the overall appearance of the lake. Anyone sitting near the shoreline might have been a little apprehensive about relaxing too much with their feet on the ground. There were lots of fire ants. The shoreline consisted primarily of small patches of grass against the predominant dirt embankment. A fair amount of weeds were evident around the grassy areas of the lake and unfortunately, animal waste was very prevalent. I wasn't sure if that was from locals with dogs or just lazy visitors who didn't clean up after their pets.
Staff hospitality was A++. The office shares the backside of the local pub and outdoor cafe next to the lake. Very quaint, unfortunately it was about 113 degrees with a fair amount of humidity and we didn't feel very motivated to enjoy the outdoor seating, which was your only option.
The park itself is aging and the wiring is there to prove it. No apparent upgrades were evident. We experienced o... |
