Munz Lakes
We stayed at Munz every weekend. Sometimes for two weeks at a time. I remember that grand old farmhouse, with its huge dance floor, and the basement casino, and washing beer mugs and glasses with Conrad, Eli Munz grandson, and shooting at ferrul cats from Conrad's upstairs bedroom window, and so much more. There was Joe and Thelma, who helped run the resort, their kids Diane, who I had a secret crush on, Steve and little Joe. All those years of memories are like magic dreams. So much that once was, is now lost...    Terry....I would love some pictures of it too! Our family camped here in the 50's and 60's.  I have such good memories of the place. The pool with the high dive, fishing, catching frogs and hiking around....

Our tentsites are grassy and shaded and we're open year round for your hiking accomodations....

Hi, please take a look at the attached photo.  I took it today in La Jolla Canyon, at the water fall (dry now).  Notice that a large rock appears to be loose and or without support.  It looks like the rock is supporting the trail above.  Someone should take a closer look at that rock.  In heavy rain it could come down.  It looks unstable....

...rs more than 80% of the slopes delivering consistent snow conditions from November through April. Mountain High is traditionally the first resort to open in Southern California each season and the only local area with night skiing seven nights-a-week. Get more at mthigh.com.
Mountain High is home to not one but three distinguished resorts. Though they are only a mile apart, they offer stunning differences in both terrain and atmosphere.
West Resort: The West Resort is filled with a seemingly endless assortment of technical trails and skillfully-designed terrain features to satisfy the freestyle culture. It is the more youthful of the three areas and the site of many on-hill contests, promotions and live performances. It is also Southern California's only local resort open seven nights-a-week until 10pm.
East Resort: The East Resort boasts the longest trails in Southern California serviced by a single high-speed quad. It is also known for its thrilling moguls, gladed tree-skiing areas and breathtaking views of the Mojave Desert. Rising as high as 8,200 feet, the East Resort...

With all this room Mt Baldy has been developing its terrain park, hits, jumps and rails are all part of the fun. Real Mountain. Real Close....
