Hobo Campground
I camped here about 5 years ago and really enjoyed it. I did not do any white water rafting but I did do some hiking around the campground which was quite nice. Camp sites were clean and far enough apart to have decent privacy....

Camp James
Enjoy our riverfront family campground and RV park on the ''wild and scenic'' Kern River!! Fish year round on one of the finest trout fishing rivers in California. All of our sites have water and electric, and we also have full hook-up sites with water, electric, sewer and cable! Our sparkling clean bathrooms have coin op hot showers. We also have a dump station. We are walking distance to a grocery store, laundromat, restaurants and river rafting companies.

We have large, shaded sites with many being riverfront or creekside. We pride ourselves on being a clean, quiet family campground. We are ''quiet'' pet friendly!!

We have firewood, ice and vending machines at the office.

Please see our website at www. Campjames. Net for all rate and reservation info, and you can check out the campsite map.

I am selling 2.3 acres of very desireable land on Breckenridge Mt., Kern County in the Mt. Diablo Meridian. It is thickly forested and sits right on Breckenridge Roaf, surrounded by Nat'l Forest It has been in my family for nearly 100 years and is privately-owned. If I do not receive response to my notice by September, I shall sell to USFS....

Kern River

...Those coordinates would put you in the middle of some class VI rapids (IE unrunable) There are actually two putin locations.
1. LAT 35.439250 LON -118.802450 This put in is impossible to get to without trespassing. So you need special permission. It's located right below the Rio Bravo Hydroelectric Dam. This section is actually a class IV followed by two class V's. I've done the entire Kern, it's definitely V. You can only do this extra section during very high water years because the Power plant diverts most of the water along this stretch.
2. LAT 35.429084 LON 118.825602 Also, on private property with no public access. Only Search and Rescue, Kayak Olympic Team, and River's End Rafting have access to this putin. There is also a public access point on racheria rd. There is a little trail to get there just past the gated community gates. I believe there is still a sign. It's not a long hike. That point gives you 5 miles of very fun class II and III rapids, swimming areas, rope swings, etc. Be aware that many people have died along this section of the river because they were no...

...rain Park, an outstanding Winter Sports School, and the region's largest tubing park. Snowmaking covers more than 80% of the slopes delivering consistent snow conditions from November through April. Mountain High is traditionally the first resort to open in Southern California each season and the only local area with night skiing seven nights-a-week. Get more at mthigh.com.
Mountain High is home to not one but three distinguished resorts. Though they are only a mile apart, they offer stunning differences in both terrain and atmosphere.
West Resort: The West Resort is filled with a seemingly endless assortment of technical trails and skillfully-designed terrain features to satisfy the freestyle culture. It is the more youthful of the three areas and the site of many on-hill contests, promotions and live performances. It is also Southern California's only local resort open seven nights-a-week until 10pm.
East Resort: The East Resort boasts the longest trails in Southern California serviced by a single high-speed quad. It is also known for its thrilling moguls, gladed tree-sk...

Wide open glades, tree runs, bowls, moguls, groomed runs, cornices and natural quarter pipes.
