Powder Mountain

With 5,500 acres of skiable terrain, Powder Mountain is one of North America's largest ski areas. This is the place if you want to make first tracks. Even on the busiest day, you may only find 1 skier per 2 acres.
Powder Mountain relies solely on Mother Nature for snow and she generously delivers 500 inches annually. We believe natural snow is best and the readers of SKI agree. They consistently rate us high for snow and value.
About half of Powder Mountain is a traditional lift served resort with an abundance of beautifully groomed cruisers. The rest of the resort is left untouched for powder hounds. Take your pick of the 1,200 acres served by Powder Country shuttle, 800 acres accessed by a short ride on Lightning Ridge snowcat or the 1,000 acres reserved for the Snowcat Powder Safari.
The staff at Powder Mountain shares your passion for winter sports and gladly goes above and beyond to make your visit special. The resort's focus is on the slopes and on delivering an extraordinary experience for each guest. ...

Deer Valley

...the summer in preparation for the 2008/2009 ski season.
?Last summer, we had some major changes here at Deer Valley?, installing our new high-speed detachable quad chairlift, Lady Morgan Express, and creating nine new ski runs in the Empire Canyon area,? reports Bob Wheaton, Resort president and general manager. ?The improvements this summer were more subtle, but just as important to providing a top notch guest experience. Since dining is truly one of the most enjoyed aspects of our guests? time at Deer Valley, two of our biggest projects for 2008/2009 were replacing the existing Cushing?s Cabin with a larger and updated model and also remodeling Empire Canyon Lodge. We?re also very proud of the fact that we?ve invested in 50 cabins that will house 200 of our seasonal employees at the nearby River?s Edge Resort at Deer Park. That more than doubles our seasonal work force housing capacity.?
Improvements at Deer Valley Resort for the 2008/2009 ski season include:
Replacement of the existing Cushing?s Cabin at the top of Flagstaff Mountain, adjacent to the Northside Express, ...

Alta

...blue and black slopes and an average share of easy trails. This ski resort has a drop from top to bottom of 2,020 feet which is more than enough for a pleasant top to bottom run. Having 2,200 acres of skiable territory being deficient in terrain won’t happen. The great snow here turns very deep, 42 feet yearly, and that is one of the reasons this is such a fine ski mountain. This ski hill has 7 ski lifts and 4 surface tows, and they are competently maintained and operated by friendly people.

Alta has a reasonable set of trails and an acceptable amount of good ski lifts. This is a nice ski area with lots of different trails; it's totally impossible to get bored here. Alta is a good size ski resort boasting an average elevation difference compared to other US Rockies ski resorts. Alta is skiing only, snowboards are not allowed. The snow-white hills of Utah are something you can’t pass up if you're keen on snowboarding or skiing. On this hill you'll discover 54 different ski trails; it's a magnificent set.

This ski resort has stronger snowfall than the local average each s...
