Yellowstone Lake State Park

When you are at Yellowstone Lake just wander out the east end of the lake to Yellowstone Chalet Campground for the friendlist people around. This is the place to go for the ''biggest'' and best ice cream cones. Breakfast 7-10 is also a treat. Wisconsin's finest cheese for sell from Local factories. Don't forget the fine selection of groceries, pop, snacks, beer.
I have yet to find another campground with such wonderful facilites so close (1/4 mile) from the lake....My family and I go every year. You're right about August being the wettest month--it rained virtually every second we were there last year, but we still HAD A BLAST!!!? The campground is amazing.? We're going again tonight for our annual trip. I definitley recommend camping here.... |

We were two stupid college kids using makeshift paddles and $10 rubber rafts trying to go from Old Lancaster road to County D. I have been canoeing lots on lakes and I would say it would be very difficult to make much progress on this stream. There are a lot of small rapids with low rocks. There were parts that were only a few inches deep. We were lucky a lot because our rubber rafts only sit a few inches into the water, but I would think a canoe or kayak might cause problems. Also watch out for a barb wire stretching across about .5 above county D. If you don't mind carrying your canoe a lot, this stream is fairly gentle. There are some pretty rock walls too. I would not recommend this stream in the dry season though.... |

Three terrain parks, with a beginner, intermediate, and expert park offer freestyle skiers and snowboarders everything they would expect in a top notch park. Nordic Mountain's goal is not only to have some of the best freestyle terrain in Wisconsin, but in all of the Midwest. Two glade runs offer expert skiers and boarders challenging tree skiing on some of the steepest terrain on the hill.
Realizing not everyone is willing to try skiing or snowboarding, Nordic Mountain installed the StoneRidge Tubing Park in 2006. The tubing park is over 1500ft long with over 90ft of vertical drop. If has five chutes and numerous ''rollers'' that add lots of thrills for the riders approaching speeds of up to 40mph. The best part is tubers don't have to walk back to the top of the hill. There is a specially designed lift that tows riders back to the top of the hill while sitting in their tubes. With the addition of the park, Nordic Mountain has opened up winter recreation to everyone.
