Wild Mountain offers a wide variety of runs ranging from our beginner hills to our double diamond run ''the Wall.'' Wild Boasts great snowmaking and grooming. We have 2 Terrain Parks. ''The Park'' is our ''big boy park'' this is where you head when you want to watch the action or take part in the action. There is a high speed rope tow to get you back to the top quickly & efficiently. Quarter Rabbit Terrain Park is for the beginners who want to have an opportunity to practice on something a little less intimidating.
If you are looking for some speed & enjoyment you will enjoy Wild, Ego Alley & You Asked For It. Easy Rder, at almost one mile long is a great beginner run that wraps around the North side of the Mountain. Often times you will also see Deer, Bald Eagles & other wild life while enjoying the skiing & riding.
Wild Mountain offers Northwoods atmosphere with great views and even better skiing and snowboarding. We are known for terrific snowmaking and grooming, and have been the first area open in the midwest f...

It?s Duluth, so we?re already off to a good start. On top of that, we turn about 65 million gallons of H2O into an amazing base of S-N-O-W. And that gives you one of the longest seasons in the Midwest.
Spirits SoBe? Terrain Park is the largest in the Midwest, bar non, and it offers a super pipe, a rail park and all sorts of terrain-all built by boarders and freestyle skiers, for boarders and freestyle skiers.
A mile or more is are longest run in the middle of the Midwest? It?s something you might not expect-just like the biggest view of the greatest Great Lake all the way down.
Duluth is not just a ski hill all alone in the middle of a Minnesota winter. It?s an entire city filled with lodging, dining, events and activities-all geared for whatever winter can dish out. Find our more at visitduluth.com ...

Afton Alps
80 miles away
Excellent ski hill to bring the kids to, huge number of lifts that serve all abilities which is important when you have kids because they're all at different ages all the time. There's always a perfect lift for everyone in the family....Afton Alps has so many runs, you'll never get bored. Great skiing for the whole family, mainly easy runs but there are a few hard ones too. I recommend this ski area to anyone who likes to ski....

Welch Village
81 miles away
...sbohrer ATV to enable daily grooming of the new, mostly advanced slopes. Construction of the new slopes and equipment is on schedule, aimed at opening Dec. 26, 2008.
Opening of the new slopes will add terrain features substantially different from the fifty runs now open to skiers and snowboarders at Welch Village. The slopes face south and east away from the prevailing northwest winds in the winter season. Layout of the slopes includes two large bowl areas plus several sharply pitched advanced runs, and a long connecting valley with an interesting fall line. Another new quad chairlift is planned for the Back Bowl area, as well as a small ''on the top'' day chalet, hopefully opening for the 2009-10 season.
For the first month after opening, the Back Bowl will only be open to guests who have membership status. For the remainder of the season the new slopes will be open to all qualified guests. Because of the more advanced nature of the new slopes, limitations of use will be needed for guests new to the sport. More information and pictures of the project can be found online...

Mount La Crosse
81 miles away
Mt. La Crosse is a great place to ski and is a convenient drive for many. There are enough challenging runs to keep you busy and a race course is available on Sundays. The Nastar course on Mt. La Crosse seems more difficult than in Beaver Creek, CO. They have a variety of runs and a terrain park. There are no hotels at the base but most are a ten minute drive away....
