Mount La Crosse
69 miles away
Mt. La Crosse is a great place to ski and is a convenient drive for many. There are enough challenging runs to keep you busy and a race course is available on Sundays. The Nastar course on Mt. La Crosse seems more difficult than in Beaver Creek, CO. They have a variety of runs and a terrain park. There are no hotels at the base but most are a ten minute drive away....

Trollhaugen

Trollhaugen Winter Recreation Area is nestled in Dresser, WI, less than an hour away from the Twin Cites to the Northeast. We offer something for all winter sports enthusiasts, whether it's alpine or cross country skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing, and even occasional events such as snowshoeing or skijoring. If you are looking for some great family fun, friendly faces, great instructors, and even greater conditions, come out to Trollhaugen, and see if you can spot the Troll....IT'S FUN BUT THE PARK CREW NEEDS TO BUILD MORE JUMPS, AND DO A BETTER JOB WITH THEM TOO....

...boy park'' this is where you head when you want to watch the action or take part in the action. There is a high speed rope tow to get you back to the top quickly & efficiently. Quarter Rabbit Terrain Park is for the beginners who want to have an opportunity to practice on something a little less intimidating.
If you are looking for some speed & enjoyment you will enjoy Wild, Ego Alley & You Asked For It. Easy Rder, at almost one mile long is a great beginner run that wraps around the North side of the Mountain. Often times you will also see Deer, Bald Eagles & other wild life while enjoying the skiing & riding.
Wild Mountain offers Northwoods atmosphere with great views and even better skiing and snowboarding. We are known for terrific snowmaking and grooming, and have been the first area open in the midwest for the last 28 years. The Wild Mountain Snowsports School and its dedicated team of professional Ski and Snowboard instructors offer lessons seven days and nights a week. We are the only metro region ski area offering children specific lessons or programs seven days a wee...

WELCH VILLAGE RESORT EXPANSION
Welch Village Resort announced in April 2008 that contracts had been negotiated with the key equipment suppliers to enable opening of their back bowl slopes for the 2008-09 winter season. A new four passenger chairlift designed by Doppelmayr CTEC, the leading manufacturer of ski lifts in the world, is under construction for the west side of the Back Bowl. Snowmaking for the twelve new slopes includes 7000 feet of pipe, four new Polecat fan units from SMI Snow Makers, and 30 York Watersticks from Johnson Controls. A new Piston Bully snow grooming machine has been purchased from Kassbohrer ATV to enable daily grooming of the new, mostly advanced slopes. Construction of the new slopes and equipment is on schedule, aimed at opening Dec. 26, 2008.
Opening of the new slopes will add terrain features substantially different from the fifty runs now open to skiers and snowboa...

Afton Alps

Excellent ski hill to bring the kids to, huge number of lifts that serve all abilities which is important when you have kids because they're all at different ages all the time. There's always a perfect lift for everyone in the family....Afton Alps has so many runs, you'll never get bored. Great skiing for the whole family, mainly easy runs but there are a few hard ones too. It?s Duluth, so we?re already off to a good start. On top of that, we turn about 65 million gallons of H2O into an amazing base of S-N-O-W. And that gives you one of the longest seasons in the Midwest.
Spirits SoBe? Terrain Park is the largest in the Midwest, bar non, and it offers a super pipe, a rail park and all sorts of terrain-all built by boarders and freestyle skiers, for boarders and freestyle skiers.
A mile or more is are longest run in the middle of the Midwest? It?s something you might not expect-just like the biggest view of the greatest Great Lake all the way down.
Duluth is not just a ski hill all alone in the middle of a Minnesota winter. It?s an entire city filled with lodging, dining, events and activities-all geared for whatever winter can dish out. Find our more at visitduluth.com ...
