Willow Lake
 | Do not swim in Willow lake. Willow lake is an acidic cesspool that fish can't even live in. The water corodes the steel parts on our model boats that we sometimes run there. The water, if you are brave enough tastes like battery acid.... |

Fish Lake
 | 11 miles away Fishing at Queen Lucas Lake is trespassing on railroad property, isn't it? It is right in between two railroads? Tell me is it open to the public? wstorer@hotmail.com...$2 entry for over 6 years. Small lake with swimming beach and dock. Picnic tables and newer playground. Nice grassy patches to lounge in the shade. 12 miles from down town Spokane, great little get away for a summer day. Can rent paddle boats. Drawbacks: This is a very small recreational facility, so can get crowded on holidays. The playground is separated from swimming area, so can't watch children at playground from your 'beach camp', limited number of picnic tables. Otherwise great value for the money!... |
49 Degrees North
 | 34 miles away 1 PHOTO ...beautiful new route to our parking lot. The project was completed prior to the 2006/2007 winter season. Climate The climate at 49ø North Mountain Resort is similar to other higher altitude mountain settings; however, due to its geographical location, the ski area experiences different weather patterns than other Pacific Northwest ski areas. Situated in the southern Selkirk Mountains, the ski area has a unique climate due to its location one mile east of Flowery Trail Pass (4,046 ft) that produces moderate temperatures with consistent snow pack at higher elevations. The total snowfall at the ski area averages 300 inches or more, while the total average annual precipitation at the ski area is 36.10 inches, with 69 percent of the precipitation coming as snow between November to April. During the winter, nearly all precipitation in the vicinity of the ski area falls as snow. In the town of Chewelah and the surrounding lower elevations west of Flowery Trial Pass the snow pack is limited; however, in the towns of Usk and Cusick, and the surrounding lower elevations east of Flow... |

 | 55 miles away Interesting to see this area via google satelitte...in 1892 my paternal grandfather purchased 95.5 acres along the river at the China Bend area from the govt. Spout Springs
 | 89 miles away 9 PHOTOS ...nuous operating ski area in Oregon and is located on a major route through the Blue Mountains. It is very popular area for snowmobiles and year-around residences. Spout Springs opened in 1927 and was first known as the Blue Mountain Ski Club. Pete and Esther Eyraud were the first owners. Pete was the second President of Pacific Northwest Ski Instructors Association and was instrumental in bringing the first French ski instructors to the northwest ski areas. Its name is derived from the numerous natural springs that are found throughout the region. There are three springs on the resort's property. Spout Springs has 2 double chair lifts, a 21 KM cross country trail system, night skiing (the entire area is lighted), and one of the states few free tubing hills. In the late 60's, Spout Springs was the Nordic training center for the United States Olympic team and the Norwegian jump team. Spout Springs flies the Olympic Flag for this distinction.
