Mason Lake
 | I have been swimming at this lake since i was a baby girl!!!...This is mainly a private lake for people who have houses on it. There is a boat launch which is very small and to the point. :) There is also a park for employees of a certain company which I forget the name of now. This lake is very clean and refreshing. It is great for boats and inter tubing and swimming all the same :) Love this Lake!!...THERE IS A PUBLIC AREA AT THIS PARK,BOATING SWIM AND PICNIC AREA... |

Upper Elk Lake
 | 19 miles away It's been about 6yrs. since I was last at upper Elk Lake,It was my most favorite place to camp. If you were lucky, and got the only camp site on the lake, the lake was yours. The water was so crystal clear, you could almost see the bottom. The fishing was't bad either. There are plenty of trails and creeks to explore.Including Jefferson creek, which will lead you to lower Elk Lake. My children loved this spot as much as I. There was also a rope swing on the other side of the lake.It was heaven. My youngest daughter traveled back to the lake this summer (2008). She says the lake is destroyed, with water plants and logs, she says the water is no longer clear. This makes me sad, I may just have to plan a trip to see for myself.... |
