Tye River
14 miles away
Class I-II, nice scenery. Might have difficulty getting to marked put in point. take out point is just before bridge on river right. cars will have to go across bridge and pull off just around sharp right corner. Old rock bridge piling could be climbed (50 ft +/-) with proper protection (most likely top roped)....

Wintergreen
29 miles away
Thanks for having such a great ski resort for us to visit, keep up the great work!...My family loves skiing at Wintergreen here in Virginia. We go there all the time in the winter, it's a good place to ski for all abilities I think, both beginners and experts....

Massanutten
57 miles away

Here in Virginia Massanutten is my top choice for skiing any day. Nice little beginner area on one side and a pretty big advanced area on the other side. It's a very well run resort....

Bryce Resort

...region as being the most family-oriented resort in Virginia, and in 2008 received onthesnow.com's Visitor's Choice Award as the most family friendly ski resort in the mid-Atlantic/Southeast region. It's a perfect place for kids and adults alike to learn how to ski or snowboard, but our slopes provide challenges for intermediate, advanced, and expert skiers and snowboarders as well.
Our instructors are among the best in the business. Group and private lessons are easily set up with the experienced staff at the Bryce Resort Ski school.
Adults and kids alike enjoy competing in our fun and challenging ski racing program.
In the last four years, Bryce Resort has made significant upgrades to the snow making equipment to allow more efficient production and flexibility. Also new is a carpet lift escalator to transport advanced beginners effortlessly to the top of the Bunny slope.
The Ridge Runner's Snow Tubing Park continues to be a widely popular place where everyone can safely slide in the snow. Our carpet lift carries you quickly back to the top of the start hill. It's great ...

Snowshoe
92 miles away
Snowshoe has the biggest elevation drop of any skiresort in the region which in my oppinion makes it a realtively great ski resort. You can get more skiing done before you have to get on the lift again. Which I think is very important in a ski resort....

Timberline
97 miles away
4 PHOTOS
Ski 1,000 feet vertical at ''Real Snow Country'' from December until April including the two mile Salamander Run. Timberline is known for its gladed trails and their double black diamond trails, Off the Wall and The Drop. Come test your skills in the hills of West Virginia. Stay slopeside at the new Timberline Resort Hotel. There is live music every weekend at Timber's Pub and Fireside Grill located in the main lodge. March 20-21 is our annual Snowy Luau. It's the biggest party of the year, with a torch light parade and Polynesian dancers. Check out our website www.timberlineresort.com or call 1.800.SNOWING for more information....
