The area has the densest concentration of wild and scenic rivers in the West and a unique diversity of plants and habitat. Woodbury said the amazing variety of flowers draws visitors from throughout the world.
Nearby attractions include the Oregon Caves National Monument, Great Cat World Park, Rough and Ready Botanical Garden and the Kalmiopsis Wilderness Area, in addition to the Redwood and Crater Lake national parks. Jet boat trips on the Rogue River, and boating, swimming and fishing at other rivers and lakes are just some of the recreation activities available. There are also lots of opportunities for hiking, wine tours and horseback riding.

We are staying in Selmac Sept 16 for Cycle Oregon and would like lodging recommendations near where cycle oregon is camped. Please advise. Thxs....I am planning on coming up for the 4th of july weekend and I was wondering if your lake is contaminated as several of the surrounding lake are. Dry Lake is NOT a good place to camp, or fish. Forest Service has failed to keep water weeds and water lilies out which is destroying the fishery. Summer days are HOT, winters cold, lots of bugs in summer. At the present rate of invasive water weeds, this lake will be a marsh bog in a few years.... |

The ski area is located about a half an hour drive from the charming town of Ashland, home to the world renowned Oregon Shakespeare Festival. At 7,500 feet, Mt. Ashland is the highest point in the Siskiyou mountain range. Its north facing slopes collect an average 300 inches of snowfall annually.
