Amish Country Campground
 | Do you need permission to have a picnic in the park called Memory Park?...We stayed at Evergreen RV Park in Mt. Eaton. It is a new park and absolutely beautiful. Everything is state of the art -- even an indoor pool with a cover that opens by a sensor. Every site is landscaped with a fence, bushes and flowers. The people are very friendly. It has the nicest restrooms (and largest) that I have ever seen. I certainly will go back again.... |

Lake O'Springs
 | 13 miles away This lake is a natural lake made up of many springs. From the many arrow heads found around the lake there is no doubt that it was home to indiginous tribes at one time or another. In the early part of the 20th century it was a summer retreat for some people. In the late 60's early 70's it was a great venue for local bands to play and a summer park with swimming etc. as well.... |
Summit Lake
 | 19 miles away You would be crazy to swim in that lake. The place is very polluted. This 'hood isn't exactly a vacation area.
...Summit Lake is an old man-made reservoir for the ohio/erie and ohio/pennsylvania canal systems in the area. There used to be an amusement park with beach/swimming area on the east side of the lake many years ago. Plenty of swimming spots just a mile or so south at Portage Lakes....Summit lake is an inner city lake that has no swimming. there is fishing but fish from the lake are not safe to eat, there have been 3 alligators caught there in recent years (seriously) The area is known to be quite dangerous after dark. There are some lovely areas just south of the city that are much safer. Summit Lake....not so much... |
