Cathance River
Fun short spot, We made it a overnight trip and had a good old time. There needs to be a bunch of water in this stream to even make it doable. on 4/20 we were scooting-ass over many shallow spots in our yaks. Fun drops with laziness inbetween make for a good time especially for the novice....

...ducational institution established in 1962 and located on a 400-acre peninsula in Wiscasset, Maine. We are dedicated to helping people grow individually and in community with others by providing educational experiences that foster an understanding and appreciation of the natural world.
Our leaders challenge participants both physically and intellectually with activities that build self confidence, a sense of community, and a greater awareness of the inter relatedness of the world around us. Since 2002, The Chewonki Foundation has purchased the campground land, built new privies, renovated existing buildings, rewired sites, and revegetated many areas of erosion. We will continue revegetation efforts and to explore energy alternatives for the campground, as well as making it as green a campground as possible. We have recently received teaching equipment for basic fly-fishing programs and will continue to work with volunteers to promote fly-fishing and river conservation. Future projects may include primitive cabins and a shale boat launch. We welcome your thoughts and suggestions. ...

Cranmore Mountain

I have skied at Cranmore many times. The Mountain isn't huge, but has a good 1,200 vertical drop. There is plenty of trails for everyone, including a nice, long beginner run from the summit to the base. Cranmore has lots of steep runs too! The best thing ...

Black Mountain

...ason as the oldest ski resort in New Hampshire. Nestled among pastures and farmlands in the quaint village of Jackson, New Hampshire, Black Mountain is the quintessential New England ski destination.
Beginners can relax and improve their skills on Sugarbush and Black Beauty. Experts, test your skills on the super steep Mr. Rew or the winding narrows of Upper Galloping Goose. Check out the Lostbo Glades or Carter Notch for some of the finest tree skiing in the East. Whatever your ability, Black Mountain has something to offer.
'Black is almost certainly one of the best areas you've probably never skied. Even though it's been operating for 72 years, it's still a well-kept secret.
Many of the trails are narrow. They twist and turn through the woods the way ski trails should. It's a very different experience than skiing down the crowded, wide-open, straight-down the falline trails so prevalent of newer, more glamorous resorts.'
