Eaton Mountain provides affordable and convenient skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing to the greater Waterville/Skowhegan area. The mountain boasts a suprising variety of terrain for a compact ski area including glades, challenging steeps, and classic New England style trails. Most of the area is covered with snowmaking and is lit for nightskiiing. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The base lodge has a snackbar and provides a place to warm up by the wood stove and meet friends.
The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season. The new owners will be taking the time to make improvements and prepare for a grand reopening in the fall of 2009. Immediate improvements are planned to include an all new snowtubing facility and widening of the Moose slope for a new terrain park.

...quired Saddleback in 2003 and have since made significant improvements including a 46% increase in terrain, two quad chairlifts, new family/beginner area, spectacular post & beam base lodge, snowmaking coverage expanded to 85%, lengthened and increased the capacity of the Rangeley Chair, obtained approval of a 10 Year Plan for the mountain and a 4-season resort village, and added on-mountain lodging with the Rock Pond, South Branch and Mountain Brook Condominiums. Progress continues with the following improvements:
NEW KENNEBAGO QUAD CHAIRLIFT
A Dopplemayr quad chairlift replaces the Kennebago T-bar which was difficult to ride because of the steep terrain. The new chair will now provide easy access to the spectacular high-elevation advanced terrain with incredible views of the lakes and Western Maine Mountains.
