Eaton Mountain provides affordable and convenient skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing to the greater Waterville/Skowhegan area. The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season. Has anybody floated the west branch during runoff? It looks doable from the bridges as of 4/22/09. I'm thinking about making a hair-raising overnight between choate rd. and Head Tide. does anyone have any input?...

Cathance River
25 miles away
Fun short spot, We made it a overnight trip and had a good old time. There needs to be a bunch of water in this stream to even make it doable. on 4/20 we were scooting-ass over many shallow spots in our yaks. Fun drops with laziness inbetween make for a good time especially for the novice....
