Big Hart Campground 19 miles away Our 1st time staying at this campground and it was wonderful, clean and not crowded. The campsite views of the lake are fantastic. ... Savannah River 29 miles away There are two open spillway dams between the Hwy 28 (Fury's Ferry) Bridge and I-20: Stevens Creek Dam (at the confluence of Stevens Creek) and the Augusta Canal Diversion Dam (about a mile downstream of Stevens Creek Dam). There are no marked access points immediately on either side of either dam. Georgia Power Co. operates an electric generating facility on the Georgia (south) bank at Stevens Creek. At the Canal, since the canal immediately parallels the river some twenty feet above it, there is no river access whatsoever on the Georgia side. Portage would be recommended along private land on the South Carolina side of both dams.... Scaly Mountain 90 miles away Although Scaly mountain only has tubing at the moment it's still a fun place to go, especially of course if you have kids. But it's fun for the grownups too....
