Ramblers Rest Resort ...ou can tell they are working to make this resort a gem. During our 2 week stay they pulled out 2 older trailers and after talking to the residents there will be more to go. If you are looking for a place to have your younger children entertained this may not be the place to go. The activities planned for them are limited. The wild life in the park is immense. From the edge of the Myakka River you can see the biggest alligators you ever want to get that close to in the wild. The fishing from the dock was quite good. We saw a Bald Eagle land in the field beside the pool. While eating our dinner we had a hawk land and capture his pray 10 feet from our table. The Owls put us to sleep at night and the wood peckers woke us up in the morning. A good suggestion is to bring fire ant killer. They are abundant in the park. In previous trips to Florida we have spent all our time in theme parks and this trip all we wanted was beach, beach is what we got,.
