Stanley Canyon Trail
 | 19 miles away 1 PHOTO Keep your eyes open. I've done the trail at least a dozen times, but my wife on her first and only trip found these mountain goats.... 9/7/2007 Hiked the Stanley Canyon trail with a friend and enjoyed the trail very much up to the reservoir. About half way up there is a ''V'' in the trail and you need to stay to the left or straight ahead. The trail leading up and to the right ends in scree and downed trees. It's a moderately strenuous trail up to the reservoir; but well worth it. Afterwards, we hiked up and past the reservoir and wanted to loop around and hit the lower Stanley trail but were unable to find the trailhead for it. We ended up blazing new ground and coming down Eagle Peak trail much to our surprise.... |

Arapahoe Basin
 | 93 miles away 7 PHOTOS Arapahoe Basin has always been known as the legend for its legendary steeps on East Wall and off Pallavicini lift, legendary views from the Continental Divide, and now for a legendary 80% terrain expansion into Montezuma Bowl. Arapahoe Basin will almost double in size this season as we expand into Montezuma Bowl with high alpine groomed runs, bowls, chutes and glades. Arapahoe Basin strongly encourages our guests and employees to ride the free Summit Stage bus or to carpool to the ski area! Riding public transportation and carpooling reduces greenhouse gases and congestion on I-70. It also saves you money on gas, reduces the parking crunch at the ski area, and gives you someone to talk with on the ride up.
