 | This trail is gone without a trace, and is only visible on topographic maps dating from before the 1970s. Even on high-resolution aerial photography, you can find no evidence that there was ever a trail here, except in the lowest portion, which is on private land, completely and irretrievably closed to entry. The chaparral in this vicinity is old, hard, and impenetrable to anything larger than a rabbit. Gibralter Lake , Jameson Reservoir yes or was it remaned?? - My maiden name is Cottam I was born & raised in Santa Barbara- Cottam Flat / Campground was named after my father who packed people over to Blue Canyon where at one time he had built a cabin there. Can someone contact me...as I am planning a family reunion and we will be hiking into Blue Canyon and will pass thru Cottam camprgound - I am assuming thea is the same location as Cottam Flats.... |

Hi, please take a look at the attached photo. I took it today in La Jolla Canyon, at the water fall (dry now). Notice that a large rock appears to be loose and or without support. It looks like the rock is supporting the trail above. Someone should take a closer look at that rock. In heavy rain it could come down. It looks unstable.... |
