Alum Cove National Recreation Trail
2 PHOTOS
On the trail...
The trail below the natural bridge is covered in dead trees due to the winter ice storm. The trailhead down to the bridge has been cleared. Memorial Day weekend 2009.

Other than that, the trail offers sandstone caves, wet weather waterfall, small stream, and one of the largest natural bridges in the country. You actually walk across the bridge and follow the trail underneath for a panoramic view of the bridge. Very easy hike!...

Some of my extended family and I went out over the weekend of 1/17/2009 for a birthday get-away for a nephew. We stayed in an awesome cabin. Here is one picture we took while hiking the Alum Cove Trail. (error while uploading picture)...

Buffalo River
11 miles away
This run was the first run I had ever done in a Kayak. I was a little scetchy at first but later realized that a kayak is 100% more safe than a canoe and quite a bit more versitile as well. By the end of the run I was trying to find the fastest spots and hiking the better rapids more than once to hit again. Now with more rivers and expierience under my paddle. I would still do this run again with friends for a enjoyable float with a few moderate rapids that can be challenging for the unprepared. If you plan to take those not real comfortable in a kayak on a river, this would be a great start for them. Not for seeking heavy whitewater. Scenery is A+++, its reputation speaks for itself. If those seeking a little more rapids and a little faster gradient start at Boxley instead of Ponca to plan your Buffalo trip....

Beaver Lodge Lake
14 miles away
I stayed at your resort fall..sept. 2006 had a great time!...

Pedestal Rocks Trail
16 miles away
nice walk had a few trees down blocking the trail (jan ice storm) but a crew from ok was clearing the dead fall i thought it was neat to look thru the cracks in the rocks and see the drop of many feet to the ground...

Adkins / Hailstone Creek
18 miles away
The fact of almost no walk out on this creek ups the level. You must put on by 10:00 am to complete this run in time for take out before dark....

Parkers RV Park
18 miles away
Parkers' RV is located on Hwy. 65 N. In Harrison, Arkansas just 1 mile North of the Walmart Super Center.

It is a full service park with paved main roads, oversized RV pads complete with sewer, water, TV cable, 30 & 50 amp electrical service at every site.

We are equidistant from Branson, Mo. And Eureka Springs, Ar.

We are a Good Sam Park and honor all major credit cards.

Beech Creek
19 miles away
There is nothing class III about this creek, it is solid class IV+. Don't under sell it....

Big Piney Creek
20 miles away
Great float. More sections of rapids interrupted by sections of pools. Very scenic w/cliffs and wooded sections. Large boulders you can jump from. Clear water....

Big Piney Creek
23 miles away
Does anyone know how Moore Outdoors is doing?  Last year when I went, their store was always closed even though they were still renting. Cant seem to get anyone on the phone this year....I go to the big piney every year, always have a blast always find something new, not the most challenging paddling but I always have a great time. If you go and don't use moore outdoors its definitely a mistake...
